HUMBOLDT PARK

Chicago is made from an urban fabric of communities. One of those communities LAPA serves is Humboldt Park. One of Chicago’s creative epicenters lies just west of downtown Chicago in Humboldt Park. This neighborhood is famous for its unparalleled ethnic restaurants on the Paseo Boricua which is centered on West Division Avenue. With a close knit Puerto Rican community it has a strong cultural heritage and rich working class legacy that is the backbone of this West Side neighborhood.

LITTLE VILLAGE

Chicago is made from an urban fabric of communities. One of those communities LAPA serves is Little Village. Culture thrives here with an authentic slice of home for the Mexican-American community which resides here and is a port of entry for many incoming Hispanics. Amid colorful murals, you’ll find just about every kind of small business here. This neighborhood also boasts a strong cultural heritage and rich working class legacy that is the backbone of this Lower West Side neighborhood.

LOGAN SQUARE

Chicago is made from an urban fabric of communities. One of those communities LAPA serves is Logan Square. This neighborhood, which also encompasses the smaller neighborhood of Palmer Square, exhibits vital ethnic and economic diversity. By 1990, Hispanics made up almost two-thirds of Logan Square’s population, comprising the largest Puerto Rican, Cuban, and South and Central American populations in Chicago, together with a sizable Mexican community. In Logan Square, the strong neighborly connection is evident all around, from active preservation groups to community gardens and a locally-run farmers market.

PILSEN

Chicago is made from an urban fabric of communities. One of those communities LAPA serves is Pilsen. Culture thrives in Pilsen where bold murals have blossomed in the most unexpected places. For over 150 years, Pilsen has been a port of entry for immigrants. With a close knit Mexican-American community it has a strong cultural heritage and rich working class legacy that is the backbone of this Lower West Side neighborhood.
